By connecting the tractor’s Ground Speed PTO (Rijafhankelijke aftakas) to the trailer’s axle, you synchronize the pushing power of the trailer with the pulling power of the tractor. 1. Wide-Angle Agility

Trailers articulate. When you turn into a field gate, the angle between the tractor and trailer can hit 90 degrees. A standard U-joint shaft will destroy itself instantly if power is applied. Yes, extremely. This is “back-driving.” If you don’t have an ओवररनिंग क्लच in the driveline, the heavy trailer load pushes the tractor engine, potentially causing a jack-knife. Always ensure your shaft has a freewheel capability.

Can I use a standard 540 PTO shaft for ground speed drive?

No. Ground speed PTO shafts must be rated for the variable speeds and high torque of traction work. Standard shafts are designed for constant 540 RPM implement loads. You need a Heavy-Duty Traction Shaft with reinforced splines.

How do I measure the correct length for a trailer shaft?
