They face intermittent shock loads from oversized chips, potential jams from foreign objects, and the constant strain of 24/7 operation during the cold Dutch winter.

1. The “Mechanical Fuse” (Shear Bolt Technology)

In biomass feeding, torque spikes are inevitable. A frozen lump of chips or a stone can lock the auger instantly. We utilize precision-machined Grade 8.8 Shear Bolts integrated into the yoke. Unlike friction clutches, which can slip unnoticed and generate heat (a fire risk in a wood chip room!), a shear bolt provides a positive disconnect. You know immediately that there is a problem, and the drive is physically separated.

2. Vibration Isolation

Electric motors run smoothly; screw augers do not. The pulsing resistance of the screw creates harmonic vibrations. Our shafts use “Lemon” Profile Tubes with a specialized nylon coating to dampen these vibrations, preventing them from transferring back to the electric motor bearings. This extends the life of your expensive variable frequency drive (VFD) controlled motors.

Regional Relevance: Safety & Arbo in the Boiler Room

A boiler room is a technical workspace, often visited by inspectors and maintenance staff. Under the Dutch Arbeidsomstandighedenwet, exposed rotating shafts are strictly prohibited.

Standard PTO guards rotate with the shaft (unless held by a chain). In a clean facility environment, this is often considered insufficient. We offer Fully Enclosed Stationary Guarding. These guards bolt to the motor and gearbox flanges, completely encapsulating the rotating shaft. They do not touch the shaft, meaning no friction, no noise, and zero wear on the guard itself. They feature easy-access inspection hatches for greasing.
