This is usually due to “starting under load.” If the mixer is full of wet, settled silage, the startup torque is immense. Standard triangular tubes can twist. You need a Star Profile O Splined Shaft, which has much higher torsional rigidity. Also, ensure your clutch is set correctly.
We advise against it for main drives. Pellet presses have variable loads. A shear bolt will fatigue and snap unpredictably, causing nuisance downtime. A Frizione a frizione is superior as it can absorb momentary spikes without stopping the machine.
