Furthermore, the pumping of chemical additives, coating colors, and black liquor involves equipment that undergoes significant thermal cycling. This causes thermal growth misalignment between the pump and the motor. A standard coupling cannot accommodate this dynamic shift without inducing high reaction loads.

Side-entry agitators are essential for maintaining suspension in large storage chests. However, the cantilevered nature of the impeller shaft creates a pendulum effect. As the impeller impacts the viscous pulp, it deflects. A rigid coupling forces the gearbox output shaft to deflect with it, destroying bearings.

Its double-jointed architecture absorbs the radial excursion of the agitator shaft, ensuring that the gearbox sees only pure torque, not bending moments.
