How do I measure my old shaft to ensure I order the correct replacement?
Great question. You need to measure the “Overall Compressed Length” (from end-to-end when fully pushed together) and identify the spline count on both the tractor side (usually 6 or 21 splines) and the implement side. Also, measure the cross-kit cap diameter. If you are unsure, just snap a photo and send it to us—we identify these patterns daily.
Can I use a standard yellow guard on a 1000 RPM application?
Generally, yes, our yellow safety shields are rated for standard agricultural speeds, including 540 and 1000 RPM. However, the critical factor is ensuring the guard bearings are greased. At 1000 RPM, friction generates heat faster. We use special nylon-graphite bearing rings in our guards to withstand this heat better than basic plastic rings.
What happens if the PTO shaft tube is too long for my stripper?
This is a dangerous situation called “bottoming out.” If the shaft compresses fully while the tractor’s 3-point hitch is lifting, it will act like a solid steel bar and smash your tractor’s PTO output bearings or crack the gearbox casing. Always ensure there is at least 15cm of overlap play remaining when the machine is in its shortest position.
Do you supply the yokes separately or only complete shafts?
We supply everything down to the individual circlip. If you have a bent profile tube but the yokes are fine, we can sell you just the profiled tubing. We stock lemon, triangular, and star profiles compatible with most Italian and German systems common in the Netherlands.
