Zero-Error Drive Shafts for High-Speed Printing & Textile Machinery
When registration accuracy is measured in microns, standard couplings are the bottleneck. We engineer the zero-backlash solution for the Dutch graphics industry.
The Netherlands is a global leader in high-tech printing (think SPGPrints, Xeikon). The demands here are extreme: high rotational speeds (up to 6,000 RPM), frequent start-stop indexing, and zero tolerance for oil mist contamination. A standard Hooke’s joint with needle bearings simply has too much play and requires grease that can ruin a fabric web.
Di EVER-POWER, kami jurutera Aci Talian Ketepatan khusus untuk Graphics & Textile sektor. Kami menggunakan Stainless Steel Metal Bellows dan Composite Disc Packs to achieve infinite torsional stiffness and zero backlash. Whether you are driving a main impression cylinder or a delicate tension control roller, our shafts ensure that what you print is exactly what you designed.

Solving the “Ghosting” Problem in Dutch Press Rooms
In the label printing hubs of North Brabant, machines run 24/7. Even a tiny amount of wear in a spline connection translates to “ghosting” (double images) on the substrate. This is unacceptable for high-end pharmaceutical or food packaging.
Our Industry-Specific Engineering Protocols:
- Zero Backlash: We use friction-locking clamping hubs (shrink discs) instead of keyways. Keyways wear out over time; clamping hubs do not. This ensures permanent zero-play transmission.
- Low Inertia: We use aerospace-grade aluminum or carbon fiber tubes for long spans. This reduces the rotational mass, allowing servo motors to accelerate faster and consume less energy.
- Redaman Getaran: For textile looms where vibration is inherent, we offer composite tubes that naturally dampen harmonic frequencies, preventing “chatter” marks on the fabric.
Client Pain Point: The “Grease Spot” Disaster
“We manufacture medical textiles in Enschede. We had a catastrophic batch rejection because a universal joint on the overhead drive flung grease onto the sterile fabric below. The seals couldn’t handle the high RPM.”
— Production Manager, Technical Textiles
EVER-POWER Solution: Lubrication-Free Design
“We replaced their greased cardan shafts with our Series-M Maintenance-Free Disc Couplings. These use flexible stainless steel laminas to transmit torque. There are no bearings, no grease, and no wear parts. Zero contamination risk, zero maintenance.”

Custom Engineering: Retrofitting Without Redesign
Many printing presses in the Netherlands are custom-built or heavily modified. A standard catalog shaft rarely fits. You might need a specific length to clear a drying unit or a special hub to fit an old motor shaft.
Kami pakar dalam “Drop-In” Precision Retrofits. We can take your existing shaft dimensions and manufacture a zero-backlash replacement that fits perfectly. We stock modular bellows and disc packs, allowing us to assemble custom lengths in our factory and ship them to Rotterdam atau Amsterdam in days, not weeks.

The Precision Chain: Servo Planetary Gearboxes
A precision shaft is only as good as the gearbox it connects to. In printing and textiles, the gearbox must be just as rigid and precise. EVER-POWER manufactures a range of Low-Backlash Planetary Gearboxes designed for servo applications.
1. Inline Servo Planetary Gearboxes
These are the standards for driving print cylinders and feed rollers.
- Tindak balas: < 3 arc-minutes standard, < 1 arc-minute precision option. Essential for maintaining the register.
- Kelajuan Input Tinggi: Capable of handling up to 6,000 RPM from modern servo motors.
- Stiffness: High torsional rigidity to match our precision shafts.
2. Right-Angle Bevel-Planetary Drives
For tight spaces where the motor must be mounted perpendicular to the roller, we offer compact right-angle units. These are perfect for narrow-web label presses where space is at a premium.
By pairing an EVER-POWER Zero-Backlash Shaft dengan kami Kotak Gear Ketepatan, you create a “stiff” drivetrain that responds instantly to your motion controller commands.
Soalan Lazim (FAQ)
Answers from the Press Room.
What is the difference between a metal bellows coupling and a disc coupling?
Bellow Logam offer the highest torsional stiffness and are best for high-dynamic servo applications requiring precise positioning. Disc Couplings are more rugged and can handle slight misalignment better while still being torsionally rigid. For printing registration, bellows are often preferred; for general line shafts, discs are excellent.
Why should I use a carbon fiber shaft for my printing press?
Carbon fiber is much lighter than steel, which means it has lower rotational inertia. This allows your machine to accelerate and decelerate faster without overloading the motor. Also, carbon fiber has a higher critical speed, allowing for longer unsupported spans without vibration (whipping).
Can you replace a KTR or R+W shaft on my textile machine?
Yes. We have extensive cross-reference data. We can match the torque rating, bore sizes, and overall length. Our modular design allows us to build a functionally identical (or upgraded) replacement very quickly.
Do your shafts require lubrication?
No. Our precision series (Bellows and Disc Pack) are 100% maintenance-free. They have no moving parts that rub against each other, so they require no grease and generate no wear particles. Ideally suited for clean printing environments.
How do I install a clamping hub shaft?
Clamping hubs use a screw to tighten a collar around the shaft, creating a friction fit. You simply slide the hub onto the motor shaft and tighten the cap screw to the specified torque. It’s faster than using keys and set screws, and it never works loose.
