The client had used a rigid flange coupling to connect the 15kW motor to the gearbox. When a bolt (accidentally dropped in the wood chips) jammed the auger, the lack of flexibility caused the gearbox input shaft to shear off completely. Repair time: 3 weeks. Cost: Immense.<\/p>\n
\u0d0e\u0d35\u0d7c-\u0d2a\u0d35\u0d7c \u0d2a\u0d30\u0d3f\u0d39\u0d3e\u0d30\u0d02:<\/strong> We retrofitted the system with a Short-Coupled PTO Shaft with a Shear Bolt Limiter<\/strong>. The universal joints in the PTO shaft allow for slight misalignment (saving the bearings), but critically, the shear bolt acts as a mechanical fuse.<\/p>\n\u0d2b\u0d32\u0d02:<\/strong> Two weeks later, another jam occurred. The shear bolt snapped (cost: \u20ac2.50), the system stopped safely, and the maintenance team cleared the blockage and replaced the bolt in 10 minutes. The gearbox remained untouched. 1. The “Mechanical Fuse” (Shear Bolt Technology)<\/h3>\n
In biomass feeding, torque spikes are inevitable. A frozen lump of chips or a stone can lock the auger instantly. We utilize precision-machined Grade 8.8 Shear Bolts<\/strong> integrated into the yoke. Unlike friction clutches, which can slip unnoticed and generate heat (a fire risk in a wood chip room!), a shear bolt provides a positive disconnect. You know immediately that there is a problem, and the drive is physically separated.<\/p>\n2. Vibration Isolation<\/h3>\n
Electric motors run smoothly; screw augers do not. The pulsing resistance of the screw creates harmonic vibrations. Our shafts use “Lemon” Profile Tubes<\/strong> with a specialized nylon coating to dampen these vibrations, preventing them from transferring back to the electric motor bearings. Maintenance dropped to zero (no belts to tension). The energy efficiency of the fan improved by 8% due to the elimination of belt slip.<\/p>\n<\/div>\nRegional Relevance: Safety & Arbo in the Boiler Room<\/h2>\nA boiler room is a technical workspace, often visited by inspectors and maintenance staff.
