\n“Last winter, a client near Apeldoorn was clearing a pine forest for a new development. They were running a PTO-driven stump grinder. The operator called me, saying he smelled smoke. I arrived to find the friction clutch on his standard shaft glowing cherry red. He was burning through a clutch pack every 2 days. The issue? The clutch was undersized for the torque of his new 300HP tractor. We replaced it with our Series 10 ‘Forest-Pro’ Shaft with a 4-Plate Sintered Bronze Clutch<\/strong>. \nMuch of the wood chipping happens on roadsides (“bermen”). This means the machine is constantly starting and stopping as the tractor moves between tree piles. Every start-up puts massive stress on the PTO.
